A great quote by Elliot Aronson, Ph.D., who helped pioneer the study of cognitive dissonance.
“We all have blind spots, and perhaps the ultimate blind spot is the belief that we don’t have blind spots.”
The cool thing about mindfulness is how, when you get quiet, you can start to see the effects those blind spots have on how your mind works. And then they may have a little less control over your automatic judgments. Of course, the real challenge is realizing that those blind spots reveal themselves in layers—there are always more to find!
