I collect short definitions of mindfulness—it is surprising how many different ways there are to summarize the practice. Here’s a fave one from Dr. Shelley Johns, an amazing psychologist at Indiana University School of Medicine:
“Mindfulness is about realizing that the mind is somewhere other than where we would like it to be.”
