You can't always get...

Master teachers can fit a lot of goodness into a few words, even if sometimes they sound a bit crusty. Like this quote from Sayadaw Tejaniya:


“Many yogis tell me that meditation is difficult. What they are actually saying is that they cannot get what they want.”


One way of looking at that is how we all come to meditation in hopes of feeling better. It can be disappointing when that doesn’t automatically happen. But then we realize the real value of the practice: the healing and growth that comes from seeing how we tend to make ourselves worse.
